Beyond the Manosphere. Masculinities Today explores how masculinity is shaped, performed, and challenged in an era marked by the rise of the online ‘manosphere’ and a renewed wave of misogyny. Featuring works by more than thirty artists, this exhibition catalogue brings together pieces from the collections of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and Kunstmuseum St.Gallen with loans and new commissions. It includes an introductory essay by Melanie Bühler, artist contributions, essays by Hannah Black and Maurits de Bruijn, and an interview with Judith Butler. Published on the occasion of the exhibition Beyond the Manosphere – Masculinities Today at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam from April 17 to August 2, 2026, and at Kunstmuseum St.Gallen from October 3, 2026, to February 28, 2027.
